In their mission to bring people together through culture, London’s Southbank Centre – home of the Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery and more – is striving to provide the very best digital experiences for audiences new and old. This means finding the right blend of technologies, partnerships and in-house expertise to both present their incredible programme of events to the widest possible audience and find new ways to create powerful shared experiences through digital.
We’re delighted to announce that Deeson has just been engaged by the Southbank Centre to redevelop their main website. Like many large cultural institutions, the Southbank Centre has seen the pressures on makers and producers of art multiply over recent years, increasing the urgency of a push towards streamlining, with regard to both the technologies that they use and their ways of working, and greater inclusivity. Deeson’s long track record of successful delivery in content management, and their experience in the arts and culture industry, makes them the perfect fit for one of the crown jewels of London’s cultural treasury.
In a project that will run until Spring 2020, the combined team will work closely together on replatforming the site from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8, aiming towards a new approach to delivering content which centres around the Southbank Centre’s programme of events and improved stability in the organisation’s development processes. The team at Deeson can’t wait to get started.
