What are you currently working on?

I’m part of the sales team at human+ and have been focussing on business development over the summer. 2020 saw human+ launch their first marketing campaigns:

Higher Education – We had planned to hold an event for Universities in the summer where leadership teams could learn about Intelligent Automation and see it in action. It was understandably cancelled, so we turned the content into our first Guide to Intelligent Automation for Higher Education. I’ve been working with our Marketing team to make sure that as many universities see this guide as possible, and have been inviting them to our remote workshops.

Housing – After the success of our first guide, we worked swiftly to release one for the Housing sector too. The sector has been hit hard by the pandemic with some contact centres becoming totally overwhelmed. I’ve been following up with people who have downloaded the guide, live prospecting and adding most of the industry on LinkedIn!

Health – I’ve just finished reviewing our Health version of the guide with the team this week. We’ve been doing fantastic work with NHS England and Wales and I can’t wait to see how much more we achieve together next year. I’ll be handling inbound and outbound calls as part of this campaign, as well as creating some fabulous linkedin posts for you to all share.

What is the most challenging aspect of your role?

Trying to get hold of prospects while COVID 19 has closed all the head offices… argh!

The most challenging aspect of my role has definitely been being placed into lockdown less than 3 months after starting at human+. Settling into a new career as well as getting used to a totally new way of working felt a little overwhelming at times, but the support offered by human+ and The Panoply has been invaluable. I’m thankful to be part of a team who are passionate about their work and helping each other succeed.

What would you say are three key attributes required for the role?

  1. Confidence
  2. Determination
  3. Time management

What most excites you about your role, what gets you up in the morning?

I like problem solving, so talking to new people in new industries every day and hearing new problems for us to tackle is exciting.

We are a fairly small team at human+, so it’s great hearing what everyone is up to on our daily standups; they really help us to stay connected to each other and our projects.

What are you currently reading, can you recommend anything?

I think many will agree that this year, it’s been pretty difficult to make time for reading. I like listening to podcasts about anything really and at the moment archaeological pseudoscience has got my interest, especially Graham Hancock.

After a brief “Great British Sewing Bee” addiction, I’ve been spending a lot of my spare time learning how to use my sewing machine again and making a lot of masks for my family.

Cats or dogs?

Both!
